Business Intelligence Analyst || supply chain expertise

With over a decade of experience with industry giants like Amazon, Boeing, and Bank of America, I’ve mastered the art of transforming complex data into strategic insights that drive business success. My journey from optimizing supply chains at Amazon to innovating pricing strategies at Avnet has honed my skills in Excel, SQL, and Business Intelligence solutions. My unique background in Experimental Psychology allows me to see data as more than just numbers; each dataset tells a story waiting to be uncovered. This perspective has driven me to develop innovative solutions that optimize operations and improve efficiency, including initiatives that helped an Amazon division boost delivery speed by 24% and increase volume by 11%.I am now focused on transitioning into a full-time Business Intelligence Analyst role, where I can leverage my diverse skill set to help organizations navigate complex data landscapes and achieve their goals. My approach blends technical expertise with strategic insight, and I’m eager to apply this combination to drive impactful business solutions. If you’re seeking a data-driven professional with a mix of technical acumen, strategic insight, and a touch of sarcasm, let’s connect and explore how I can contribute to your team’s success.Take a look at my LinkedIn profile as well: linkedin.com/in/kevintwebster/

Cookie Sales Dashboard

Dynamic Excel Dashboard to monitor annual sales across regions for a fictitious cookie company

Mastering the GenAI Frontier Book

Created a guide for junior data analysts on leveraging Generative AI tools to enhance workflows and career growth.

Wordle-X

I recreated the game Wordle from scratch with fully interactive functionality

Cookie Sales Dashboard

In this project, I began by refining a pre-existing sales dataset representing a fictitious cookie company's sales across multiple regions. My goal was to develop a dynamic dashboard that would allow for an in-depth exploration of how different cookie flavors performed across five distinct regions throughout the year.To add depth and context to the analysis, I incorporated the effects of four significant events that were hypothesized to influence sales patterns: a logistics strike impacting distribution, expansion into a new market territory, the launch of a new cookie variety, and the implementation of a novel advertising strategy.By integrating these events into the analysis, I aimed to provide actionable insights into the performance of various cookie flavors while accounting for external factors that may have impacted sales dynamics.(BTW I love the state-shaped cookies I created for the revenue map.)

Mastering the GenAI Frontier

In this project, I authored Mastering the GenAI Frontier, a comprehensive guide aimed at helping early-career data analysts navigate the transformative impact of Generative AI. My interest in AI was sparked by my first interaction with ChatGPT, where its capabilities intrigued me, but I also noted the growing debate around its potential misuse and its impact on jobs.As I transitioned towards a career in data analysis, I faced the pressing question: "Will AI replace my job?" Through over a dozen courses from Google, IBM, and Vanderbilt University, I came to view AI not as a threat, but as a powerful tool for augmenting human capabilities. Drawing on parallels to fields like accounting, where technology has streamlined processes without eliminating the need for expert judgment, I recognized that AI would similarly enhance, not replace, the role of the data analyst.Mastering the GenAI Frontier presents a roadmap for data analysts to integrate AI tools into their workflows. It highlights practical applications of AI for tasks like data analysis, reporting, and process automation, while also addressing its limitations, such as AI hallucinations. By demystifying AI, the book encourages data professionals to embrace AI as a productivity enhancer rather than a job threat. In writing the book, I directly applied the AI tools I explored, using ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude for everything from brainstorming and drafting to editing and refining content. These tools streamlined my process and allowed me to focus on delivering meaningful insights, underscoring how AI can serve as a collaborative partner in creative and analytical work. This project not only showcases my ability to demystify complex topics but also reflects my forward-thinking approach to leveraging technology. It bridges my supply chain management background with my future in business intelligence and data analytics, reinforcing my adaptability and readiness for new challenges in the industry.

Wordle-X

I wanted to see if I could recreate the game Wordle in Excel. I found a couple of examples online of other people who had attempted the same task, and while their versions were functional, I wanted to create something that better recreated the online experience.Initially, I aimed to build it without using VBA, but I quickly realized that having an on-screen keyboard with dynamically changing colors would be impossible without it.In the end, I successfully developed a fully functioning Wordle clone containing over 2500 words that it cycles through. The game interface includes several features:--- Hint Button: Reveals one letter of the hidden word.
--- I Give Up Button: Displays the hidden word and clears the board for another round.
--- New Word Button: Resets the board for a fresh round.
--- Final Feedback: When solving the puzzle, fireworks celebrate your success. If unsuccessful, a message confirms the correct word.
Additionally, the game interface highlights:--- Correct letters in the correct position (highlighted in green).
--- Correct letters in the incorrect position (highlighted in gold).
--- Previously guessed letters are darkened to help track your progress.
Overall, it's a fun and interactive project that showcases my engineering mindset and multiple aspects of Excel expertise.
